Principal AI Research Engineer

• Lead research initiatives in large language models, transformer architectures, and generative AI applications
• Design and implement novel AI algorithms and models for Microsoft's Azure AI and Copilot products
• Publish research findings in top-tier conferences (NeurIPS, ICML, CVPR) and contribute to open-source AI projects
• Collaborate with product teams to transition research prototypes into production-ready AI services
• Mentor junior researchers and engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence
• Stay at the forefront of AI research and identify emerging technologies for Microsoft's AI roadmap

• 8+ years of experience in AI/ML research or applied machine learning with strong publication record
• Deep expertise in deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow) and transformer architectures
• Proven experience with large language models, NLP, computer vision, or reinforcement learning
• Strong programming skills in Python, C++, or similar languages with focus on performance optimization
• Track record of deploying AI models at scale in production environments
• PhD in Computer Science, AI, Machine Learning, or related field preferred (or equivalent industry experience)
• Publications in top-tier AI conferences and contributions to open-source AI projects
