Senior Software Engineer - Backend

Join our Document Cloud team as a Senior Backend Engineer to build scalable microservices and APIs powering Adobe Acrobat and PDF services used by millions globally. You will work on high-performance distributed systems, cloud-native architectures, and contribute to products that define the future of digital documents.

• Design and develop scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
• Build and optimize distributed systems to handle millions of document processing requests daily
• Implement event-driven architectures using Kafka, RabbitMQ, and design asynchronous processing pipelines
• Collaborate with frontend, mobile, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end features
• Optimize database queries and design efficient data models using SQL and NoSQL databases
• Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and mentor junior engineers

• 7+ years of experience in backend development with strong proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, or similar frameworks
• Deep understanding of microservices architecture, RESTful APIs, and distributed systems
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Strong knowledge of databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or Cassandra
• Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and caching systems (Redis, Memcached)
• Proficiency in designing scalable systems and handling high-traffic applications
• Excellent problem-solving skills and experience with agile development methodologies
