Senior Software Engineer - Backend

We are seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to design and build scalable microservices that power Flipkart's core commerce platform. You will work on high-traffic systems handling millions of requests per day and contribute to architectural decisions. This role offers the opportunity to solve complex distributed systems challenges at scale.

• Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using Java/Kotlin and Spring Boot
• Build and optimize microservices architecture to handle high-scale traffic and ensure 99.99% uptime
• Collaborate with product managers and frontend engineers to deliver end-to-end features
• Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and continuous integration/deployment
• Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards
• Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot production issues with quick turnaround

• 6+ years of experience in backend development with strong proficiency in Java, Kotlin, or similar languages
• Extensive experience with microservices architecture, REST APIs, and distributed systems
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
• Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP/Azure) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ) and event-driven architectures
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field from a premier institution
