Principal Software Engineer - Backend Systems

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to architect and build highly scalable backend systems for our payments and financial services platform. You will lead the technical direction for critical systems, mentor senior engineers, and drive architectural decisions. This is a high-impact role requiring expertise in distributed systems and microservices architecture.

• Design and architect highly scalable, low-latency backend systems for payment processing
• Lead technical initiatives and drive architectural decisions across multiple teams
• Build fault-tolerant distributed systems capable of handling millions of transactions per second
• Mentor and guide senior engineers on design patterns and best practices
• Collaborate with product and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Establish engineering standards and drive code quality improvements across the organization

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with focus on backend development
• Expert-level proficiency in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices architecture
• Deep understanding of distributed systems, databases, and message queues
• Experience building and scaling high-traffic systems in fintech or e-commerce domains
• Strong knowledge of system design, data structures, and algorithms
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP) and containerization technologies
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field from premier institutions
