Senior Software Engineer - Platform Engineering

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to build and scale platform engineering infrastructure that powers PhonePe's massive transaction volume. You will work on building developer tools, improving deployment pipelines, and ensuring platform reliability. This role requires strong systems thinking and the ability to build infrastructure that serves hundreds of engineers.

• Design and build scalable platform infrastructure and internal developer tools
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release management systems
• Build observability, monitoring, and alerting frameworks for microservices architecture
• Improve developer productivity through tooling, automation, and self-service platforms
• Work on performance optimization, capacity planning, and infrastructure cost management
• Collaborate with product engineering teams to enable faster and safer deployments

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
• 6+ years of software engineering experience with focus on backend or platform engineering
• Strong programming skills in Java, Go, Python, or similar languages
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and infrastructure as code
• Knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and service mesh technologies
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, ArgoCD) and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana)
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a high-scale environment
